General Information & Specifications
Every Sheep Inc. garment is a precision-engineered piece of natural-fibre machinery. Its chassis features reinforced seams and a self-regulating, breathable matrix that manages temperature and odour without intervention.
Component Overview
| System | Specification |
|---|---|
| Construction | Engineered knit, high-tensile 100% Merino yarn |
| Protection | Merino's own natural lanolin (waxy protective layer) |
| Service Interval | Variable — intervene only on operational failure |
| Anti-Microbial | Natural protection matrix, self-regulating |
Maintenance Flowchart
Operational diagnostics for a worn garment. Answer each prompt — the next step appears as you go, and the diagnostic routes you to the correct servicing procedure.
Routine Servicing — The Gentle Soak
If the garment fails diagnostics and requires a full system flush, follow this precise sequence to avoid shrinking or warp damage.
- Fluid Fill. Fill a clean basin with cool water (under 30°C). Mix in a small dose of mild, pH-neutral wool detergent. Submerge the garment entirely.
- Agitation & Agony Avoidance. Gently squeeze water through the fibres. Do not scrub, wring, or twist — agitating wet fibres causes them to interlock, leading to permanent shrinkage.
- Centrifugal Extraction (The Towel Roll). Lay the garment flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel tightly like a sleeping bag to press out moisture without straining the seams.
- Realignment. Unroll and reshape the damp garment to its original factory dimensions. Lay completely flat on a drying rack out of direct sunlight.
The Fresh Air Fix
Because Merino is a dynamic natural material, it features a built-in self-cleaning lifecycle.
- Select a high-airflow outdoor area or a well-ventilated room.
- Drape the sweater flat or across a thick horizontal support bar.
- Allow the fibres to “exhale” for 12 to 24 hours. Air movement resets the natural lanolin coating and disperses microscopic odour particles.
Storage & Geometry Preservation
Correct Storage Procedure
Always store the garment folded completely flat in a dark, dry drawer. This preserves the original engineered shape and stress-relieves the seams.
Bodywork Touch-ups (Pill Patrol)
Over time, friction from daily wear causes loose surface fibres to cluster into small spheres (pills). This is a natural feature of unadulterated high-quality wool, not a product failure.
Service Notes
- Tool Required. Bespoke 3D-Printed Knitwear Comb (supplied with initial vehicle delivery).
- Procedure. Lay the sweater flat on a hard surface. Hold the comb at a 45-degree angle and sweep gently in long, fluid strokes across affected panels. Do not apply heavy downward force.
Anti-Pest Countermeasures
If you suspect the presence of clothes moths or are prepping for seasonal storage, bypass toxic chemical mothballs with this mechanical technique:
- Ensure the garment is 100% dry.
- Seal the sweater inside an airtight, transparent plastic bag.
- Place the bagged unit into a domestic freezer at -18°C or lower.
- Maintain deep freeze for 48 continuous hours to safely terminate larvae and safeguard fabric integrity.
| Target Temp | -18°C or lower |
| Duration | 48 continuous hrs |
| Containment | Airtight clear bag |
Lifetime Guarantee
We design our natural-fibre machinery to last a lifetime. If your garment suffers structural degradation, seam failure, or accidental puncture that cannot be serviced at home, do not scrap it.
Our specialized Knit Clinic operates a full component repair and restoration service. Under our guarantee, we prioritize restoration over replacement — keeping your gear in active rotation for decades to come.
